Dan buys companies that started fast, raised too much money, and hit a wall. Then he steps inside as the operator and rebuilds them. For more than 20 years, he’s worked across 38 industries and 14 countries, helping companies survive the moment when growth stalls, cash gets tight, and the old plan stops working. Today, he’s the founder of Phydra, where he acquires stressed technology and B2B companies and rebuilds them around cash, accountability, and a clear path to exit. Dan joined Panzura in May 2020 as Chief Revenue Officer as part of the acquisition team. Built the revenue engine that moved the company into the enterprise segment (485% growth over 3 years). Transitioned to Chief Transformation Officer to restructure operations after revenue hit record levels. The board then asked him to step into the CEO role to lead through a critical period of strategic and operational challenges. As CEO and Board Director: He rebuilds the executive leadership team, restructures go-to-market, and repositions the company’s enterprise hybrid cloud data platform in a competitive market. Leads multiple successful rounds of funding — both equity and debt-based. Held direct responsibility for corporate performance and board governance.

The arc at Panzura — revenue leader to transformation officer to CEO — is the same pattern that defines every turnaround: find what’s broken, fix the system, scale the outcome.

He’s also the author of EDGY Conversations, with more than 700,000 copies sold. Dow Jones called him “One of the top business thinkers on the internet.” Outside the boardroom, he’s run more than 38,000 miles and became the tenth person to complete Run Everest. Dan brings the scar tissue. The failed plans. The hard conversations. The decisions leaders make when there is no clean answer. In this interview, he helped our audience understand how to rebuild a struggling company, lead under pressure, recover from failure, and develop the endurance to keep moving when motivation is gone. Dan tells real stories, challenges easy answers, and leaves listeners with ideas they can use the next morning. Believing ultimately, that “Resilience Is a System, Not a Personality Trait”
